David M. Tenner

David M. Tenner joined Ridley, McGreevy & Weisz as Special Counsel in March of 2007. Mr. Tenner’s 23 years of civil trial practice has focused on complex commercial and tort litigation, in both state and federal courts. Mr. Tenner's trial practice encompasses a wide range of disputes, including business disputes, intellectual property litigation, product liability claims, arbitrations and representation of individuals.

Mr. Tenner's practice also includes alternative dispute resolution. He is a trained mediator and arbitrator. He has also been appointed by the Denver District Court to serve as a special master in complex business litigation.

Mr. Tenner has an active appellate practice, both prosecuting and defending appeals. He is admitted to practice before the Colorado Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has written articles that have appeared in The Colorado Lawyer, The Colorado Real Estate Journal and Home Builders Magazine.

In March 1993, Mr. Tenner received his AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, becoming Denver's youngest AV-rated attorney. He received NITA training and certification in 1989.

Mr. Tenner is an active volunteer. He was a founding member of the William E. Doyle Inn of Court, where he has served on the Executive Committee from the Inn's inception in 1981 to the present. He served as Inn President in 1997-1998. In addition to serving as a special master for the Denver District Court, he has served as a Hearing Board Member for the Colorado Supreme Court Grievance Committee. He has also served on the Colorado Bar Association's Ethics Committee and on its Board of Governors. He regularly serves as a volunteer Mentor Attorney for the Faculty of Federal Advocates Counsel/ Co-Counsel program and the Metro Volunteer Lawyers program. He was also a volunteer attorney for the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. He has also been a volunteer and fundraiser for the Washington Park Early Learning Center, Cory Elementary School and Colorado College.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Tenner graduated from Colorado College in 1981. He attended The Georgetown University Law Center, where he received invitations to the Georgetown Law Journal and other law reviews and where he taught legal research and writing. Mr. Tenner graduated from Georgetown, with honors, in 1981.
